Tripadvisor Awards: The best hotels and B&Bs have been announced
TripAdvisor has released their 2018 TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Awards for the best hotels in the world.
To be eligible for the award, the property must have at least four stars to qualify, as well as offer average rates at least 20 per cent the city average. They must also cost less than £215 a night.
They are voted for by the reviews that millions add ever year, and are collated annually to announce the winners.
The best B&B in Europe has been revealed and is actually found in the south of England.

A Cornish B&B found in Little Compton has taken the top prize this year, called The Old School Bed & Breakfast.
Found in Morton-in-Marsh, not only is it the best in Europe, but it is also fourth best in the world.
Second and third place also went to the UK, with Lindon Bottom B&B in Dorset – last year’s winner – and 34 Argle Street Guesthouse in St Andrews, Scotland respectively.
The UK swept the board with the Tavistock House Hotel in Devon being voted the best small hotel in Europe and second in the world.

Heading to Wales, the Lawton Court Hotel in Llandudno won best value for money in Europe, and third in the world.
Hayley Coleman, TripAdvisor spokesperson commented on what the results mean for both the industry and travellers.
She explained: “These awards are revered and eagerly awaited each year by the hospitality industry owing to the fact that unlike other hospitality awards, these are based on feedback from actual guests over the past year.
“For travellers, they serve as annual bucket list inspiration and with winning hotels often fully booked shortly after our announcement, travellers who want to get in on the action will need to book quickly if they want to see for themselves why these properties are so highly rated.”

The number one in the world sadly was found further afield, with Viroth’s hotel in Siem Riep, Cambodia, taking the top spot.
Staycations hit an all time high last year and are set to continue in 2018.
Glasgow has been voted the top choice so far with the most bookings for the year.
Coming in second was Birmingham, both much more affordable destinations in the UK compared to popular destinations such as Cornwall or London.
